Flywheel Clean-Up

Flywheel was opened up by Gary, Joel and Jon after 12 hours of volunteer work.  The trail is now clear and fully rideable from the end of Frank's into Flywheel all the way down to Victoria Drive. An industrial weedeater, chainsaws and good old fashioned hands-on work did the trick. There are a few structures that remain safely rideable while others will need a re-build - but viable bypasses are in place.  An additional thank you goes out to the unknown person who took out a few fallen trees prior to the clean-up.  A few pictures have been added to the Trail Work Gallery.

Also, check out the photos of the new woodwork added over the wet section on the new line of Starz.

Build responsibly

It has been brought to the attention of TORCC that there have been stunts and trails built on private land holdings in the Tri-Cities area. These areas can be very sensitive ecologically and home to various species of fish and wildlife that are endangered or have a challenged habitat. Unfortunately some individuals have accessed local areas, building trails and stunts that have caused extensive damage. T

TORCC does not endorse the actions of these persons and certainly cannot adequately express our concerns about the damage that has been done in this area. Irresponsible and reckless use and/or trail building only hurts our collective cause of maintaining access to trails or increasing our stake in the opportunities to enjoy mountain bike riding within the community.

We are asking for your support as advocates for responsible trail use and as stewards of the trails to:

  • Never build in areas where no permission or access exists
  • Never ride in areas of eco - sensitivity
  • Respect private ownership or closed areas

We need to preserve , not damage or destroy our wild areas. We all succeed through the responsible use of our environment.

Physiotherapy Trail Day-Thank you for your help.

(Photos from the past two trail days - Click to see the entire album)

Thank you to the individuals who came out to work on the lower section of Physiotherapy.  Three sections of trail were almost completed by the end of it.

Also, thank you to Secret Cycles who fuelled the builders with snacks and Kintec Footlabs who donated two great draw prizes:

(Barnet Hwy & Lansdowne, Coquitlam)

(Suter Brook Village, Port Moody)

Physiotherapy Trail Day Wrap-Up - May 30

A big thank you goes out to all of the people who came out to help build the Physiotherapy trail.   Almost 30 people helped build a significant section of the lower trail.  A lot of new trail was constructed, as well as some previously built sections got a coating of fresh "gold".

A big thank you goes out to the sponsors of the trail day:
